Peregrinations

April 5 - May 12, 2012

This series of long exposures captures movement in time, space, and substance. The fortuitous element of randomness removes the photographer’s socio-cultural projections into the image. The use of abstraction negates identifiable references, removes the viewer’s projections, and asks for an emotional rather than rational response.

COUNTERPOINT

Complex cityscapes in this collaborative project combining digital technology and film.
May 5 - May 28, 2011

Drawing inspiration from a musical notion in which two voices that sound and move independently coalesce to create a more elaborate and harmonious music, Counterpoint is a collaborative photo-based project pushing the limitations of a singular vision towards a more fluid and complex perspective by interweaving two creative voices. THE MOMENT

February 3 - February 26, 2011

LeRoy Howard’s THE MOMENT re-presents classical narratives, opening them up to explore their emotional truths. He employs the composition of Renaissance paintings, Medieval altarpieces, or modern photography, and restructures the images into multi-part panels. Within each image, Howard is the actor. “I photograph repeatedly, sometimes over many months, composing in-camera multiple exposures not entirely within [...]
